In October of 1973, Union Bank & Trust Co. became Northwestern Bank & Union Trust. In the early morning hours of April 29, 1974, two men gained entry to Northwestern Bank by first getting onto the roof of O'Toole's bar, then onto the roof of the J. C. Penny store (now the Montana Department of Revenue), where they put a ladder up to a third-floor window of the bank and gained entry...

 

The getaway car was evidently found on Arastra Gulch Road.

An online search for a Robert Brannan out of Billings did not reveal anything relevant to this case.
