In 1932, Martin Holmberg (1871-1947), built seven small tourist cabins and a garage in the 700 block of N. Davis, between 12th Ave. and 14th St. This was on land he purchased in a county tax deed sale in 1931, the land having been taken by the county for delinquent taxes in 1927.

It had several owners and went by a few names over the years: Capital City Camp, Mendenhall Trailer Court, City Center Trailer Court...

The little cabins were removed over time, and the property eventually became a trailer park with over twenty trailers.

Newspaper items about the place mention numerous nefarious persons and deeds over the years. In its later years, the park was cited as being a nuisance. It got so bad that neighbors petitioned the City in 1981 to condemn and remove the park.

The property was redeveloped as housing starting in 1984.
